Robert Lewandowski, Barca's Saviour?

Ronaldo (R9), Samuel Eto, Ibrahimović, Suarez etc. FC Barcelona have a rich history of number 9's, and now another beast of a player Robert Lewandowski also known as Lewangoalski has signed for FC Barcelona permanently for the price of 50M Euros.

After the departure of Leo Messi and Antoine Griezmann in same season, Barcelona was in deep trouble and Catalonian giants went trophy less last season. Barcelona was in the desperate need of a character in their team who can score some goals, with more than 500 goals in the bag, two times FIFA the Best winner Robert Lewandowski looks like that character. 

Robert Lewandowski played as a central forward in Bayern Munich. As we have seen, Lewandowski is kind of a player who demands the ball in the box and loves to score. He is a predator in the box. He scored 1.1 goals per games last season. When you have the player like Lewandowski in your side he gives you the 28xG per season. Which is not very common. So, he is a dangerous player and he can be the one of greatest signing of FC Barcelona's history. A player is always a slave to a system. In FC Bayern, they build a system around Lewandowski that let him to score lot of goals. Lewandowski is not a kind of pressure maniac who presses the opposition defense like Benzema. You need to have a player around Lewandowski who presses for him and make spaces for him. He is a space hungry player who runs very hard in spaces. He loves to attack spaces in the box. He loves to make run in box and score goals. Last season he just had a 1 outside the box goal in Bundesliga. 

As we compare FC Barcelona and FC Bayern, both teams love to keep the ball, and without the ball both teams are aggressive. Both behave similarly without the ball. Barcelona allows 9 passes in average to opposition before starting the press which is very close to 9.2 of FC Bayern. 

As Lewandowski is a player who can play the ball, keep the ball and occasionally drop to make some spaces and allow other players to make runs. He can easily fit in the FC Barcelona. A player like Gavi who is a pressure maniac can be the SS with Lewandowski and help him to score lot of goals.

With the striker like Robert Lewandowski and the midfielders like Busquets, Pedri, Xavi's Barcelona will be a treat to watch in next season. Last season Barca was just lacking goals, now with the signing of Lewandowski who can score 40 or more goals we can say that FC Barcelona is again  in the race to win tittles.
